FDA Probing Impotence Drug, Blindness Link

Didn’t we used to always hear that it was the wankin’ that would make you go blind? And now to find out that it’s keeping it up too long that’ll do it! There’s just no justice in the world, I tell ya.

It sure is good to be a girl - life is so much simpler. To hell with Viagra, just gimme a toy and some batteries and I’m good to go!

Wheeeeeeee!

“The handling, the transportation, different water, different food. Bouncing around, being kept awake during the day just stresses them out. And stress doesn’t help anybody”

Angry Pentagon Investigates Saddam Photos

“President Bush said he did not think the images would incite further anti-American sentiment in
Iraq.”

Why does that statement stir in me tremendous anger …and yet anger in an unsurprised fashion?

What people fail to GET is that every damn thing we (America) do in the Middle East is fuel for any sort of anti-American sentiment you can think of.

Hell, I got into a stOOpid argument with someone who thought that people were “making too big a deal of the Abu Ghraib prison deal” - because, you know, “if those people think they can just fly planes into our buildings and get away with it, they’ve got another thing comin’!” (Even though not one of those terrorists were Iraqis.) Or, along the same lines, “Oh, so it’s okay for THEM to fly planes into our buildings but we can’t treat prisoners like prisoners?!”

Puhleeze. I blame the beheadings on stOOpid military bullshit. Like the Abu Ghraib scandal. No, of course, the military didn’t MAKE those people do those violent things, but each idiotic move we make there inspires more violence on an individual level. And of course the broad scale.

So Dubya and his, “gee, why would humiliating their former leader make them cranky with us” attitude makes me angry. Thankfully, I’m not the beheading type. But I am the blogging type, so here ya go: Crankiness.

Forgive me, for I have fallen behind!

Wednesday, May 18th, 2005

Dear Reader,

I beg your forgiveness! I have been absent from my writing place for about a month, and feel just awful about it. Awful, I say!

There, I feel better. Thanks! So warm and forgiving are you.

Now, then, what have I been up to? The list seems -feels- endless, but let me say for starters that my school has been in finals since Friday and they end on Wednesday. I had three today and have one tomorrow. For the record, and as a weak attempt at gathering sympathy from the masses I must tell you that today’s schedule went as such: First final, 8:00 am - 10:00 am. Second final, 10:10 am - 12:10 pm. This was clear on the other side of campus! The third final was from 12:20 - 2: 20 pm, way back on the side of campus where the first damned final took place! The bastids!

Oh, sure, “You *are* a bit pudgy,” you say. (Bite me!) Perhaps so, but that’s no reason to ignore the fact that one of my primary tasks each day -each hour- is to PEE. Yes. I can tell you where the best bathrooms are located in nearly any place that I’ve been before. And upon my first visit anywhere, it is my priority to learn where the bathrooms are located. So, then, you see the problem: Where was the pee-time? Clearly, it was not built in to this insane schedule! Again, I say, Bastids!

Other than school stuff, although to be honest, that list can go on and on… It’s just life, I guess. Life is a busy time. My father is in a nursing home nearby, and there is nobody outside of the nursing home staff who does anything on behalf of my dad. Visits, bill paying, buying treats and delivering them, making sure his appointments are made (and kept) - the list just goes on. AND for the record, let me say that I am grateful to have the opportunity to do this. However, it is far more draining than I imagined it would be. Being a caretaker of a not well and elderly parent is tough business, even if the caretaking does not take place in one’s own home. (God what a disaster that would be… …)

So then. It’s life, that’s all. (Remember the old Sanyo commercials with … Oh, goodness, what was that actress’ name? Man, I hate that. If I wasn’t about to say her name, I’d know it. Damn! (Research will now go late into the night to figure this one out!)

I have a bunch of new essays to post and will do that within the next few days. Just wanted to stop by the place, dust it off a bit, throw open the windows to let a bit of light and fresh air in!

[Note: The actress I was trying to remember is Susan Anton. She’s “a gorgeous woman. An Actress. A Star.” Uh huh - it says so on her official site!]
