Forgive me, for I have fallen behind!
Wednesday, May 18th, 2005Dear Reader,
I beg your forgiveness! I have been absent from my writing place for about a month, and feel just awful about it. Awful, I say!
There, I feel better. Thanks! So warm and forgiving are you.
Now, then, what have I been up to? The list seems -feels- endless, but let me say for starters that my school has been in finals since Friday and they end on Wednesday. I had three today and have one tomorrow. For the record, and as a weak attempt at gathering sympathy from the masses
Oh, sure, “You *are* a bit pudgy,” you say. (Bite me!) Perhaps so, but that’s no reason to ignore the fact that one of my primary tasks each day -each hour- is to PEE. Yes. I can tell you where the best bathrooms are located in nearly any place that I’ve been before. And upon my first visit anywhere, it is my priority to learn where the bathrooms are located. So, then, you see the problem: Where was the pee-time? Clearly, it was not built in to this insane schedule! Again, I say, Bastids!
Other than school stuff, although to be honest, that list can go on and on… It’s just life, I guess. Life is a busy time. My father is in a nursing home nearby, and there is nobody outside of the nursing home staff who does anything on behalf of my dad. Visits, bill paying, buying treats and delivering them, making sure his appointments are made (and kept) - the list just goes on. AND for the record, let me say that I am grateful to have the opportunity to do this. However, it is far more draining than I imagined it would be. Being a caretaker of a not well and elderly parent is tough business, even if the caretaking does not take place in one’s own home. (God what a disaster that would be…
So then. It’s life, that’s all. (Remember the old Sanyo commercials with … Oh, goodness, what was that actress’ name? Man, I hate that. If I wasn’t about to say her name, I’d know it. Damn! (Research will now go late into the night to figure this one out!)
I have a bunch of new essays to post and will do that within the next few days. Just wanted to stop by the place, dust it off a bit, throw open the windows to let a bit of light and fresh air in!
[Note: The actress I was trying to remember is Susan Anton. She’s “a gorgeous woman. An Actress. A Star.” Uh huh - it says so on her official site!]
