Angry Pentagon Investigates Saddam Photos

“President Bush said he did not think the images would incite further anti-American sentiment in
Iraq.”

Why does that statement stir in me tremendous anger …and yet anger in an unsurprised fashion?

What people fail to GET is that every damn thing we (America) do in the Middle East is fuel for any sort of anti-American sentiment you can think of.

Hell, I got into a stOOpid argument with someone who thought that people were “making too big a deal of the Abu Ghraib prison deal” - because, you know, “if those people think they can just fly planes into our buildings and get away with it, they’ve got another thing comin’!” (Even though not one of those terrorists were Iraqis.) Or, along the same lines, “Oh, so it’s okay for THEM to fly planes into our buildings but we can’t treat prisoners like prisoners?!”

Puhleeze. I blame the beheadings on stOOpid military bullshit. Like the Abu Ghraib scandal. No, of course, the military didn’t MAKE those people do those violent things, but each idiotic move we make there inspires more violence on an individual level. And of course the broad scale.

So Dubya and his, “gee, why would humiliating their former leader make them cranky with us” attitude makes me angry. Thankfully, I’m not the beheading type. But I am the blogging type, so here ya go: Crankiness.
